{inspiration workshop} perfect bathroom

Joining Gussy today for the Inspiration Workshop...

Gussy Sews Inspiration Workshop!

Today Gussy's prompt is about the perfect bathroom.
Currently, my bathroom is very small, with...interesting...pink tile.
BUT, since I'll be moving out of my parent's house when I get married in October,
I've been thinking a lot about what our home will look/feel like, including the bathroom.

This is the concept I'm going for...

A bold, graphic shower curtain {the Sweetheart & I added this one to our registry}
paired with a pop of color on the walls {probably a pretty shade of yellow!}.
I love it!

What would your perfect bathroom look like?

{happenings}

{from here}

I won't lie and say that my life is always perfect,
but I am so blessed

Life has been kind of crazy lately, though...

We're getting married in less than 3 1/2 months.
I am absolutely excited and I can't wait,
but I also have a LOT to get done before then.
I started making lists this week, and it's a tad overwhelming...
Fortunately, I have a lot of help if I need it!

Also, the Sweetheart got a new job!
I am beyond proud of him...I may be biased,
but he is awesome at what he does. :)
We were not expecting this at all, and he wasn't looking for a job.
But, he'll be getting a great paycheck, good benefits, etc.
which is definitely a blessing.

But, along with this new job comes more new changes.
New schedules, figuring out where we'll live, and so on.
It will all work out...I'm just not entirely sure how.

I've also posted about that craft fair that's
happening two weeks after we get married...
I'm so excited for the opportunity, but I am SO overwhelmed
with all that I need to get done!
My goal is to have everything for the craft fair done
by September 1st. That will take a lot of work.
We shall see...

So, that's a bit of what's going on in my life.
But most of all, I want to live everyday to the fullest,
no matter what that day holds.

Have a lovely Wednesday!

{before & after}

If you follow me here, I mentioned that I was getting my curls cut the other day...
I only get my hair cut twice a year, so I was really excited. :)

I like my hair long, but it can be challenging.
It takes forever to dry, and I can't tell you how much
mousse it takes to keep those curls pretty {yikes!}.

So, I ended up getting a good amount chopped off.
I love it! So much easier & cooler!
Just thought I'd share with you...

 {before & after, to show you the difference in length}

{what it looks like completely dry}

What do you think?!
And do tell...do you prefer your hair long, short or in between?

artsy aut {giveaway!}

I love handmade.
I love the products, the creativity, the people behind the shops.
And I love featuring those people on The Sweetest Petunia.
So here's another great shop, and a giveaway for you!

{ artsy aut }

I've never met Autumn {the dreamer/designer behind artsy aut} in real life,
but don't you love when you can tell someone is super sweet just from their emails? ;)

I'll let Autumn tell you more about herself...

 I currently live in a super small town in Hawaii (there isn't even a stoplight here!) and I love it! I have two darling boys, ages 4 and almost 2 and a Tom Cruise look alike husband. I'm a part time civil servant that moonlights as a crafter. Anything do-it-yourself is right up my ally! I started my Etsy shop as a way to share my designs spread a little color. Anything colorful, bright, happy, yellow, or polka dot, I love. Add pendants and chevrons and I'm hooked. I also love cooking and baking. I love to eat! So consequently, I'm also a runner ;)

3 words to describe yourself?
blessed, inventive, and just plain happy.

What inspires you?
 I'm so lucky to live in Hawaii. My surroundings inspire me all the time!  I have a beautiful flowers in my yard, a gorgeous mountain in my view and the ocean just around the bend. But my biggest inspiration comes from my friends. I'm so blessed with creative types in my life! Thank goodness for blogs and Facebook and email that keeps me connected to them!

Autumn was kind enough to send me a set of hair pins, too...

These hair pins are great quality, sturdy, and just plain adorable!
The pop of pink was a great touch for my outfit, and the
pricing on these bobbies is very reasonable. Love them!

What I Love Wednesday {our future home!}

{from here}

Since I'm getting married in October & moving somewhere new,
I've been thinking a lot about what I want our home to look/feel like.
I want our home to be pretty, but practical. Inviting. Warm.
A place where people want to be.

I haven't figured out exactly what that looks like yet,
but I'll share some of my current inspiration with you...

I found this kitchen mat at Target, and my sister bought it for me as an early wedding present.
I looove the colors, the patterns and the coffee cups!
Our kitchen will be based around this mat.

And...
I discovered these plates at Pier 1 Imports - the colors match so well!

I really love plum + grey together {for our bedroom}.
This bedding set has been added to our registry,
and I found the pillows while browsing Etsy.

I'm seriously considering doing a bathroom in yellow + grey, another of my favorite combinations.
If you have any inspiration to share for that, please do!

Since I don't know exactly where we'll be living {yet}, it's hard to design a space.
I'm not sure about the sizing, the layout, etc...
But it's fun to dream up colors & accessories to use in the meantime. :)
You can see more inspiration on my {for our home} board on Pinterest!

What do you think?
What do you love most about your home?

sew ewe-nique designs {review & giveaway!}

this giveaway is now CLOSED!
Congrats to Vicki S!

*****

Happy Monday, everyone...
I'm excited to be sharing a sweet shop with you today!

Kelly is the designer behind sew ewe-nique, and her shop is full
of cute little accessories to dress up your outfits.

cute button earrings...

fun headbands...

even cute clutches!

I asked Kelly to tell me a little about herself...
Well, I am a 25 year old dreamer and creator. I have always loved art and coming up with new ideas. Crafting has always been in my family, my Mom, Grandmother, all the way to my Great-Grandmother, so I would say I have the genes for it. I live with my fiance Tom and two adorable kitties Hamlet and Nanaki in Northern Lower Michigan. I decided to start my own shop when I needed a creative outlet from work. I started to knit last fall and fell in love with it. I then got a sewing machine for Christmas (from Tom) and went to town! But what I love most about starting my own shop is being able to then support other shops. {Yes, I love this!} I try to put my 'sale' money towards purchases that will also support other small shop owners. I appreciate those who buy handmade and try to do the same.

...and what inspires her!
Life, nature and fashion. I say life because, I have found that my style has changed with the seasons. I am huge into earrings, and sewing items right now, come fall I will pick up knitting again. Nature because of the area that we live in. Though there is a semi-medium size town around us, N. Michigan is covered in nature, so what better to inspire a person than what surrounds me. And fashion which has always inspired me. I try to be thrifty, and when certain styles cost more than what I would pay for something that is mass-marketed, I try to recreate them myself. There is nothing better than hearing “where did you get that?” and answering “I made it!”

Kelly sent me this adorable headband, and I love it!
I wore it this week, and it was a nice little piece to dress up my hair.
I love the covered button, it's well made, and the fabric is so sweet. :)
{Thanks so much, Kelly!}
